Impala Platinum

Impala Platinum is a South African platinum-group metals (PGMs) mining company and one of the world's leading producers of platinum, palladium, rhodium and other associated metals. The company is headquartered in Johannesburg and operates primarily in South Africa and Zimbabwe, with its principal operations including the Impala mine in Rustenburg, the Marula mine in Limpopo and a controlling stake in Zimplats in Zimbabwe. Impala Platinum is listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange and forms part of the Implats group, which also encompasses refining and marketing operations. The company's core business involves the extraction, processing and refining of PGMs, which are critical inputs for automotive catalytic converters, industrial applications and jewellery. Impala Platinum's operations span the full value chain from mining through to refined metal production, with significant processing capacity at its refineries. The company employs tens of thousands of workers across its operations and is a major contributor to the South African and Zimbabwean mining sectors. Impala Platinum has increasingly focused on operational efficiency, cost management and diversification of its asset base in response to volatile PGM prices and shifting demand patterns in the automotive sector. The company was founded in 1966 and has grown through organic expansion and acquisitions to become a cornerstone of the global platinum industry.
