Zijin Mining

Zijin Mining is a Chinese mining company engaged in the exploration, development and production of gold, copper and other mineral resources. The company is headquartered in Fujian province, China, and operates mines across multiple countries including China, Serbia, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Peru and Papua New Guinea. Zijin Mining is listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange and the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, making it one of China's largest publicly traded mining enterprises. The company's core products include gold, copper, zinc and other base and precious metals, with copper and gold representing its primary revenue streams. Zijin Mining holds a significant market position as one of the world's largest gold producers and a major copper producer, with operations spanning the full mining value chain from exploration through to processing and refining. The company has expanded aggressively through international acquisitions, securing major assets such as the Kamoa-Kakula copper project in the Democratic Republic of Congo and the Timok copper-gold project in Serbia. Zijin Mining employs tens of thousands of workers across its global operations and generates annual revenues in the tens of billions of yuan. Principal subsidiaries include operations in Tibet, such as Tibet Julong Copper, which manages significant copper resources in the region. The company was founded in 1986 and has grown from a small provincial mining operation into a multinational corporation with a diversified portfolio of mining assets across multiple continents.

The first batch of 99.7%-pure copper anodes from Kamoa-Kakula’s 500 000 t/y direct-to-blister copper smelter arrived at the Port of Lobito, following just a one-week journey using the Lobito Railway Corridor. The anodes are set to arrive in Europe for refining in May.
