KGHM Polska Miedz is a Polish mining and metals company specialising in copper and silver production. It is headquartered in Lubin, Poland, and operates mines, smelters and processing facilities including the Legnica Smelter, primarily within the Lower Silesian copper belt. The company is listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange, with the Polish State retaining a significant shareholding. Its core business includes the extraction and processing of copper ore into refined copper, along with silver and other by-products such as gold and rhenium. KGHM ranks among the world's larger copper producers and is Europe's leading silver producer. The group also holds international mining assets, including operations in Canada, the United States and Chile, through subsidiaries such as KGHM International.
