Vale wins eight 'bests' in Extel Latin America Executive Team awards
Brazilian multinational miner Vale has ranked first in all eight categories of the Metals & Mining sector in the 2026 Extel Latin America Executive Team awards.
The ranking evaluates the performance of companies and executives across the region based on the rigorous assessment of hundreds of global asset managers, analysts, and financial market professionals.
“This result is a direct reflection of clear leadership and the daily, disciplined, and consistent efforts of the entire company. What matters to us is both what we deliver and how we execute our strategy: with ethics, transparency, and responsibility.
This achievement reinforces our unwavering commitment to creating value sustainably for investors, analysts, shareholders, and society as a whole,” says Vale CFO Marcelo Bacci.
Extel, formerly known as Institutional Investor Research, conducts the Extel Latin America Executive Team ranking every year.
The ranking is based on the independent assessment of hundreds of investment professionals, fund managers, and analysts, who vote each year on the effectiveness of corporate management and the quality of informational support provided by publicly listed companies
The recognition covered executive leadership; investor relations (IR) teams; environmental, social and governance (ESG) practices; and the company’s strategic engagement with the equity markets.
Vale won first place with 'Best Company Board of Directors', while CEO Gustavo Pimenta and Bacci won 'Best CEO' and 'Best CFO' respectively. Thiago Lofiego was crowned 'Best IR Professional' while Vale also won for having the 'Best IR Team' and 'Best IR Programme'. Vale also won for 'Best ESG' and 'Best Analyst/Investor Event'.
