Wood

Wood is a global consulting and engineering company providing solutions across energy, chemicals, infrastructure and the built environment. The firm is headquartered in Aberdeen, Scotland, and operates in more than 60 countries worldwide. Wood delivers project design, engineering, procurement, construction management and operational support services to clients in the oil and gas, mining, power generation, chemicals and infrastructure sectors. The company employs approximately 35 000 people globally and maintains a strong presence in the natural resources sector, offering services including feasibility studies, process engineering, environmental consulting and project execution. Wood is a private company following its delisting from the London Stock Exchange in 2023. The firm serves major energy and resources companies, governments and industrial clients, with expertise spanning conventional and renewable energy, mining and minerals processing, and industrial facilities. In the mining sector, Wood provides technical consulting and engineering services for mineral processing, mine infrastructure, environmental management and project development, including work on battery metals and critical minerals projects. The company was formed in 2017 through the merger of Wood Group and Amec Foster Wheeler, bringing together two established engineering firms with roots dating back to the early twentieth century.
