Nouveau Monde Graphite

Nouveau Monde Graphite is a Canadian graphite mining and advanced materials company focused on developing a fully integrated source of carbon-neutral battery anode material in Québec. The company is headquartered in Saint-Michel-des-Saints, Québec, and operates the Matawinie graphite project, one of the largest known natural graphite deposits in North America. Nouveau Monde Graphite aims to become a strategic supplier to the electric vehicle and energy storage sectors by producing high-purity spherical graphite for lithium-ion battery anodes. The company has positioned itself as a sustainable supplier, targeting net-zero carbon emissions across its operations through the use of renewable hydroelectric power and innovative processing techniques. It has secured offtake agreements and partnerships with major battery and automotive industry players, including Panasonic Energy. The company is publicly listed and has received financial backing from Canadian government agencies including Export Development Canada and the Canada Infrastructure Bank. Nouveau Monde Graphite's integrated business model spans mining, processing and coating of graphite materials. The company was founded in 2012 and has since advanced its Matawinie project through feasibility studies and permitting towards commercial production.
