Canada Nickel

Canada Nickel Company is a mining development company focused on nickel and associated critical minerals used in the energy transition. It is headquartered in Toronto and listed on the TSX Venture Exchange. The company's flagship asset is the Crawford Nickel Project in Timmins, Ontario, one of the largest nickel sulphide deposits identified globally. Canada Nickel is developing technology aimed at producing low-carbon nickel, cobalt and iron products for the stainless steel and battery sectors, alongside carbon capture initiatives that seek to make its operations net zero or carbon negative. It has formed partnerships with commodity traders and industrial groups, including RWE Supply & Trading, to advance offtake and investment in projects such as Net Zero Metals. The company positions itself as a supplier of responsibly produced nickel for North American and European battery and stainless steel supply chains. Mark Selby serves as its chairperson and chief executive. Canada Nickel has pursued government and strategic investor support in Canada and the United States given the strategic importance of nickel to electric vehicle battery manufacturing. The company remains at the development and permitting stage, working towards construction of the Crawford project. It emphasises its potential contribution to reducing reliance on nickel supply chains with higher carbon footprints, notably from Indonesia.
