Antofagasta Minerals

Antofagasta Minerals is a Chilean copper mining company and the principal operating subsidiary of Antofagasta plc, a London Stock Exchange-listed mining group. The company is headquartered in Santiago, Chile, and operates primarily in the northern regions of the country, one of the world's most prolific copper-producing areas. Antofagasta Minerals owns and operates four major copper mining operations: Los Pelambres, Centinela, Antucoya and Zaldívar, alongside a significant transport division that includes rail and port infrastructure. The company is one of the world's top ten copper producers, with annual production exceeding 700 000 tonnes of copper. Its operations also produce significant by-products including molybdenum and gold. Antofagasta Minerals employs several thousand people across its Chilean operations and maintains a strong focus on sustainable mining practices and community engagement. The company has invested heavily in water management and renewable energy to reduce the environmental footprint of its operations. Antofagasta plc, the parent company, was founded in 1888 and has evolved from a railway and nitrate business into a major international mining group. Antofagasta Minerals continues to pursue growth through exploration, expansion projects and operational efficiency improvements across its portfolio.
