Western Uranium reports higher-than-expected uranium grades after customer testing
Canadian miner Western Uranium & Vanadium Corporation has concluded a uranium ore delivery programme at the Sunday Mine Complex to Energy Fuels' White Mesa mill, in Utah.
Western Uranium says it is particularly encouraged by post-processing assays having been conducted by the customer under the ore purchase agreement related to the delivery, with natural uranium grades having been 40% higher than Western Uranium's initial probe estimates at delivery, resulting in a larger final payment to the company.
If these higher assay results are representative of the entire or a portion of the unmined and unexplored areas of the Sunday Mine Complex, in Colorado, it may indicate that the mineral resource exceeds significantly the original estimates derived from prior drilling data reported in a 2015 technical report on the Sunday mine.
"We are pleased with the results of the uranium ore delivery programme. The material increase between our probe-indicated grades and the final chemical assay results in a strong testament to the quality of Western Uranium's mineral resources at the Sunday Mine Complex.
"We remain committed to maximising the economic recovery of our assets through efficient mining practices and strategic processing partnerships. These results provide further confidence in our ability to deliver consistent, high-value production as we advance long-term development, including of the Mustang mineral processing plant site," says Western Uranium CEO and president George Glasier.
