We must lower our dependence on imported energy

For as long as the future global order remains uncertain, we South Africans need to go all out to reduce our reliance on imported energy. Domestic energy production is the only durable answer in this period of geopolitical instability. Coming with greater local energy generation are much-needed jobs, as well as the saving of valuable foreign exchange. It makes sense to turn every economically viable domestic energy opportunity to positive account – and there are a considerable number of such opportunities at the moment.
