Tietto announces new lead
PERTH (miningweekly.com) – Gold producer Tietto Minerals has appointed Matt Wilcox as MD and CEO following MD and founder Dr Caigen Wang’s decision to retire.
Wilcox will move into the new role from his current position as COO and executive director, from where he oversaw the team which constructed and commissioned the Abujar gold plant, in Côte d’Ivoire, and has played a leading role in the ramp-up of gold production.
“We are delighted to welcome Wilcox as our MD and CEO after his leadership as our COO and more recently, executive director, overseeing development of Abujar into gold production,” said chairperson Francis Harper.
“Prior to joining Tietto in 2021, Wilcox and his operating team were responsible for constructing multiple large-scale carbon-in-leach and heap leach gold mines in a variety of jurisdictions over a 20-year period. As Abujar comes into full production in the third quarter of 2023, Wilcox and the management team will also progress the APG heap leach feasibility study towards a decision point by the end of 2023.”
