Indonesia's PC Ketapang II launches construction on Bukit Panjang gas project
JAKARTA - PC Ketapang II Ltd, a unit of the Searah joint venture between Italy's Eni and Malaysia's Petronas, has begun the physical construction work on its Bukit Panjang gas field in Indonesia, the company said in a statement on Thursday.
PC Ketapang II reached a final investment decision for the gas project in East Java in April, and aims to reach the production phase in 2028.
The Bukit Panjang field is expected to reach peak production of 50-million cubic feet of gas a day and its production facility will be integrated into the company's existing infrastructure in the Ketapang working area.
Upstream oil and gas regulator SKK Migas expects Bukit Panjang to add 1 000 barrels a day of condensate and 189 tons a day of liquefied petroleum gas output, chairperson Djoko Siswanto said in the same statement.
The Ketapang working area is part of the 19 gas assets under the portfolio of Searah, a newly launched joint venture that combines gas producing and development blocks in Indonesia and Malaysia.
