ASX-listed gold explorer Haranga Resources has appointed Patrick Mutz MD and CEO effective September 1, bringing 30 years of proven capability and experience across project execution, team building, resource growth, capital raising and global stakeholder management to the position.

Having visited the company's flagship Lincoln gold project, in California, which is one of the highest grade gold resources on the ASX, Mutz gained first-hand insight into the project's potential and said the timing is right to apply modern techniques, technology and innovations in this historically robust area.

Mutz joins Haranga after a ten-year term as CEO and MD of ASX-listed Image Resources in Western Australia, where he led the company from exploration stage through to a successful mining operation. Mutz also worked as CEO of Murray Zircon where he led the development of a mineral sands project and as MD and CEO of ASX-listed Alliance Resources.

During another time as MD and CEO of Deep Yellow, he repositioned the company's Namibian uranium assets towards development.

"What sets him apart is his track record across the full development cycle," says Haranga chairperson Michael Davy, adding that Haranga is well placed to make the most of Lincoln's inherent advantages under Mutz's leadership.

Haranga has other assets in California's Mother Lode Gold Belt and in Senegal's Kéniéba Inlier region.
