TSX-V-listed Giyani Metals Corporation says an infill drill programme to inform a feasibility study at the K.Hill manganese project, in Botswana, has led to the discovery of a new mineralised horizon (B Horizon) below the main orebody.

The company is assessing the area for inclusion in an upcoming mineral resource and reserve statement.

The infill drilling programme was intended to upgrade the current inferred mineral resource to an indicated mineral resources and mineral reserve status.

Another extension drill programme, to the south of the K.Hill project, has involved 26 reverse circulation drill holes for a total 1 803 m, which has been completed.

This programme also intersected a significant new mineralised horizon, which will be further explored with follow-up diamond drilling.

The existing drilling contractors will remain on site to undertake the new programme, which is expected to take about four weeks and will be completed during the fourth quarter.

Meanwhile, an induced polarisation survey at the Otse deposit has identified several geophysical anomalies over the 50 ha exploration area, which will define target locations for a 3 000 m drilling campaign due to start in the fourth quarter.

Otse is located about 40 km east of the K.Hill project.

Giyani explains that, while the K.Hill extension and infrill drill programmes will inform mineral estimates for the K.Hill project, any arising Otso mineral estimates will confirm a new resource.
