Eagle Nuclear tasks key firms for drilling preparation at Aurora uranium project
Nasdaq-listed Eagle Nuclear Energy Corporation has engaged several key service providers as part of the company's planned prefeasibility study- (PFS-) related drill programme at the Aurora uranium project, on the border of Nevada and Oregon.
The engagements include a new collaboration with Yukuskokon Professional Services and the expansion of existing agreements with BBA USA and SLR International Corporation.
The company anticipates these companies will play crucial roles in executing the drill programme.
The Aurora PFS is expected to be published in the second half of 2027.
“With the engagement of Yukuskokon, all major operational contractors are now in place for an efficient execution of our proposed PFS-related drill programme. We are now waiting for permit approvals from the State-level regulators in Oregon before starting drilling activities at Aurora.
"Yukuskokon, BBA and SLR bring the expertise needed to execute our drill programme responsibly and proficiently, while preparing Eagle for the upcoming PFS. The advancement of Aurora remains a key priority as the US looks to strengthen its domestic uranium supply chain and today’s announcement moves us closer to this goal," says Eagle operations VP Vishal Gupta.
Yukuskokon will work alongside the Eagle team to provide turnkey project management and geological support for the drill programme, while BBA will provide real-time geological modelling, drill hole targeting and resource consulting support, as well as preparation of standard operating procedures for various aspects of the drill programme in advance of its start.
SLR will provide real-time drill programme support related to hydrogeological and geochemical objectives, including installation of groundwater monitoring wells, well development, slug testing, collection of samples representative of lithologic units for geochemical characterisation, groundwater monitoring and hydrogeological modelling.
Aurora anchors Eagle’s long-term strategy to develop an integrated nuclear energy platform combining domestic uranium resources with advanced small modular reactor technology.
As global demand for nuclear power increases and the US looks to strengthen domestic fuel supply chains, the company believes Aurora is positioned to become a strategic source of uranium for the next generation of nuclear energy.
