Zhejiang Huayou Cobalt

Zhejiang Huayou Cobalt is a Chinese mining and metals company specialising in the production and processing of cobalt and other battery metals. The company is headquartered in Tongxiang, Zhejiang province, China, and operates across the battery materials supply chain from mining through to refined products. Zhejiang Huayou Cobalt is a major global supplier of cobalt chemicals and precursor materials used in lithium-ion batteries for electric vehicles and consumer electronics. The company has mining operations and processing facilities in several African countries, including the Democratic Republic of Congo, where it sources cobalt ore, as well as operations in China and other regions. It has expanded its portfolio to include lithium, nickel and copper production to serve the growing electric vehicle battery market. Zhejiang Huayou Cobalt is listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange and ranks among the world's largest cobalt producers by output. The company supplies battery cathode precursor materials to major battery manufacturers in Asia, Europe and North America. It was founded in 2002 and has grown rapidly alongside the expansion of the global electric vehicle industry, investing in integrated supply chains from mine to battery-grade chemicals.
