Mining Indaba

Mining Indaba is an annual mining investment conference held in Cape Town, South Africa, focused on the African mining industry. The event is organised by Hyve Group and typically takes place in February, bringing together mining executives, investors, government officials and service providers from across the continent and internationally. Mining Indaba serves as a platform for deal-making, policy discussion and networking within the African mining sector, covering exploration, development and investment opportunities. The conference features presentations, panel discussions and exhibitions addressing topics such as mineral resource development, regulatory frameworks, infrastructure, financing and sustainability. It attracts thousands of delegates each year, including ministers, CEOs of major mining companies and representatives from junior explorers. Mining Indaba has become the largest mining investment event in Africa and is regarded as a key forum for shaping policy dialogue and investment decisions in the sector. The event also addresses social and environmental issues related to mining, including community engagement, land rights and responsible mining practices. Mining Indaba was first held in 1994 and has grown in scale and influence over the past three decades, reflecting the strategic importance of Africa's mineral wealth to global supply chains.
