Jorge Ganoza

Jorge Ganoza is president, CEO and a director of Fortuna Mining, a Canada-based precious metals producer listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange and New York Stock Exchange with operations spanning Côte d'Ivoire (Séguéla mine), Argentina (Lindero mine) and Peru (Caylloma mine). He leads the company's growth strategy centred on West Africa, most notably the development of the Diamba Sud gold project in eastern Senegal, a roughly $400-million openpit mine expected to begin production in 2028, and the subsequent $200-million acquisition of the adjacent Bambadji exploration project from Barrick Mining and IAMGOLD, which together consolidate one of the largest gold concession holdings along the Senegal-Mali Shear Zone. Under his leadership, Fortuna has pursued a target of growing consolidated annual gold production to more than 500 000 ounces, partly through an approved expansion of the Séguéla mine in Côte d'Ivoire. He has described Fortuna as historically silver-focused but agnostic between gold and silver, with recent growth in gold reflecting available opportunities rather than a strategic shift away from silver. Ganoza regularly comments publicly on project economics, permitting timelines, exploration results and sustainability performance, including the company's tailings management and renewable-energy initiatives, and has highlighted Senegal's relatively fast permitting process as a competitive advantage for mining investment in the country. He has overseen Fortuna's engagement with Senegalese authorities on local content, employment and resource-based development objectives, and has pointed to the company's strong balance sheet and liquidity as enabling organic growth without reliance on project finance or external debt.
