Have you ever encountered a Financial Intelligence Centre Act- (FICA-) related scenario that falls outside the standard playbook? A client relationship that does not sit right or an Ultimate Beneficial Owner structure that does not quite fit the checklist? This event is for you.

Here is your chance to sit down with South Africa's leading FICA compliance platform, nCino KYC, expert compliance team and get the answers you need, over a good cup of coffee.

Join the upcoming Coffee with Compliance workshop, a complimentary, informal session taking place on October 22 at the Cullinan Hotel in Cape Town from 08:30 – 11:30.

Submit your question and get a simple, easy to understand answer on the day.

Where FICA comes in: Not sure why this applies to your business?

If you deal in high-value goods, vehicles, machinery, or other big-ticket items, you are already on the FIC's radar, whether you know it or not. Sell, buy or trade a single physical item for R100 000 or more, and your business is legally a High-Value Goods Dealer (HVGD), with the same FICA/ KYC obligations as a bank.

Criminals have increasingly turned to high-value goods as a vehicle for laundering money, using purchases of mining and manufacturing equipment to convert illicit funds into legitimate-looking assets. This shift in tactics is exactly why the sector is now under closer regulatory scrutiny, and why HVGDs are expected to have proper controls in place.

The businesses that get caught out are not the reckless ones. They are the ones who did not know what to look for. This workshop is designed to close this gap and equip you with the knowledge you need.

The compliance workshop will cover:

  • FICA discussion topics submitted by you
  • Real-world typologies and red flags to watch for
  • A chance to network and engage with peers navigating the same challenges
  • An open floor to connect directly with our compliance team

Whether you are reviewing your compliance processes, navigating a tricky client scenario or just want to sharpen your understanding of your FICA obligations, this session is designed to provide you with practical, straight-talking guidance - no jargon, no fluff.

Grab a coffee and let us all connect.
