Global engineering supplier FLS says it aims to strengthen its African mining strategy by focussing on full flowsheet technology, improved sustainability, digitalisation and regional customer support, as mining operations across the continent continue to focus on productivity, improved sustainability and operational efficiency.

FLS affirms that it continues to see strong opportunities across both established and emerging mining regions including southern, central and west Africa. Its strategy is centred on supporting mines throughout the full operational lifecycle, from comminution and flotation through to filtration, tailings management and aftermarket support.

The company says its technologies, digital solutions and lifecycle service offerings are designed to help mining operations improve performance while reducing energy consumption, water usage and operating costs.

It highlights that a key focus will be supporting African mining companies to balance production targets with increasingly stringent environmental and sustainability requirements. This includes the use of technologies designed to improve energy efficiency, optimise water usage, reduce emissions and extend equipment life while also enabling safer and more reliable operations across the mine lifecycle.

FLS says its strategy is focused not only on equipment supply, but also on strengthening long-term partnerships through deep process knowledge, proven innovation and a strong local service presence to support customers throughout the full lifecycle of their operations.

The company also highlights its continued investment in skills development and technical support structures across the region, noting that it recognises the importance of local expertise in ensuring sustainable mining operations and long-term operational success.

FLS says it will showcase its innovation, digitalisation and service capabilities at the upcoming Electra Mining Africa 2026 exhibition.
