New machinery launches, live demonstrations and technologies addressing real production and operational challenges will give visitors plenty to explore at Propak Cape 2026, taking place at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC) from 27-29 October.

More than 200 exhibitors will showcase machinery, products and technologies spanning packaging, plastics, printing, labelling, food processing and related industries. Visitors can compare equipment, explore new materials, speak to technical specialists and discover solutions for their operations, alongside IPSA’s free-to-attend seminars presented by industry specialists.

See new machinery in action

Logistics Systems Engineering will launch its 6-Way Shuttle, part of the Multi-Directional Shuttle Range, giving visitors an opportunity to be among the first in South Africa to witness this technology in operation. Running live throughout the exhibition, the Shuttle will demonstrate LSE’s multi-directional pallet movement and how this technology is expanding the possibilities of high-density warehouse automation.

For another perspective on warehouse storage and picking, Palian will showcase its locally designed and manufactured systems for demanding operational environments. Visitors can also take part in the Palian Picking Challenge, selecting boxes from a carton-flow display for a chance to win prizes while seeing how the next box automatically slides forward for efficient picking.

Transpaco & Future Packaging & Machinery will launch the new Power Pre-Stretch Pallet Wrapping Machine and a Paper Void Fill Dispensing Machine, both new to the South African market. Both machines will be demonstrated live on the stand, alongside the Automatic L-Sealing Shrink-Wrapping Line.

At Igus, visitors can watch a delta robot and xy linear gantries simulate picking and placing applications, including picking fruit from a conveyor and packing it. The stand will also feature 3D printed can twisters, which visitors can touch and feel.

Explore plastics processing and material innovations

GreenTech Plastics Machinery will showcase solutions from international brands including ENGEL, WINTEC, motan, swift, HB-Therm, Frigel, battenfeld-cincinnati, BBM, NGR, TAMPOPRINT, Tantec, Moldo Plastico and EAS. Visitors can explore technologies for injection moulding, extrusion, blow moulding, recycling, automation, material handling, temperature control, cooling, surface treatment, printing and mould-handling.

For those exploring alternatives in packaging materials, NPP will present UPM Specialty Materials’  advanced barrier papers, which provide grease, moisture and oxygen protection while supporting recyclable and fibre-based packaging solutions. Visitors can see and feel the different paper grades for packaging and labelling on the NPP stand.

Discover precision equipment and new labelling technologies

WD Hearn Machine Tools will display the NPC 72 Ton Injection Moulding Machine for reliable plastics manufacturing, the Scanology NimbleTrack 3D Scanning System with highly accurate, high-speed measurement and inspection capabilities, and the Glory Star GS-FM 30M Fibre Marking Laser, which provides fast, permanent marking on a wide range of materials for traceability, branding and product identification with exceptional precision.

Visitors interested in new labelling possibilities can explore VR Print’s augmented reality labels, audible QR codes for visually impaired patients, glow-in-the-dark labels, RFID technology, 3D holographic labels and innovative 3-ply, 5-panel peel & read labels. The company will also unveil a new online ordering platform designed to streamline the customer experience, giving clients access to previous orders, order history and simplified repeat ordering.

With new launches, working machinery and technologies to explore across multiple sectors, Propak Cape offers an opportunity to see developments first-hand, compare solutions and speak directly to the people behind them.

“Propak Cape brings a wide range of technologies, suppliers and industry expertise together under one roof. Visitors can register online for free access and use the exhibition to explore new developments, exchange ideas with industry peers and identify products and services relevant to their business needs. Seeing machinery in action and discussing specific operational challenges directly with suppliers can also help visitors identify solutions worth exploring further for their own businesses.” Says Mark Anderson, Portfolio Director at Montgomery Group Africa, organisers of the show.
