As mining companies face growing pressure to improve productivity, optimise plant performance, and manage operating costs, Multotec continues to draw on its engineering expertise, manufacturing capability and close collaboration with customers to overcome complex operational challenges and deliver sustainable performance improvements.
This customer-focused approach will be showcased at Electra Mining Africa 2026, where visitors will experience live demonstrations, explore interactive displays and engage with specialists from across Multotec's various divisions, gaining valuable insight into how the company's technologies and expertise help optimise plant performance, improve recovery, and reduce operating costs.
According to Bheka Majola, Managing Director for the South African Region at Multotec, Electra Mining Africa provides an important opportunity for the mining industry to come together, share knowledge, and discuss the future of mineral processing.
“For Multotec, it also creates valuable opportunities to engage directly with customers, better understand their operational challenges, and explore how our technologies and expertise can support their success,” he says.
Highlighting Multotec’s broad product and service offering, Majola says Electra Mining Africa 2026 will provide a platform to showcase the company's solutions, technologies, and engineering expertise through several interactive displays and live demonstrations.
These include a live spiral demonstration showcasing Multotec’s gravity separation product range; a glass cyclone illustrating the operating principles of a cyclone; and a working Vezin sampler demonstrating the role of metallurgical accounting sampling. Visitors will also see a Vibramech screen deck fitted with Multotec screening media and accessories, as well as the MATO range of conveyor maintenance solutions, rubber wear technologies, digital wear-monitoring software, and other process optimisation solutions.
Together, these displays are intended not only to highlight Multotec’s technologies, but also to demonstrate how application-specific solutions, backed by engineering expertise and customer collaboration, help mining operations improve efficiency, reliability, and decision-making.
Partnering with customers to solve operational challenges
Multotec's approach to business is built on a long-standing commitment to solve the mining industry’s most pressing mineral processing challenges by aligning its solutions to these operational realities.
“We do this by developing practical, customised solutions alongside our customers that solve their real-world mineral processing problems,” explains Majola.
“By combining our manufacturing capability with the engineering expertise across our specialised divisions, Multotec is able to innovate in ways that deliver measurable improvements in plant performance, availability, yield, efficiency, and reliability,” he adds.
This combination of specialist knowledge, engineering capability, and customer collaboration continues to position Multotec as a trusted partner to the mining industry.
The future of innovation is digital
Having built a strong foundation through a comprehensive portfolio of mineral processing equipment, supported by metallurgical, process, and mechanical engineering expertise, Multotec is focused on advancing its digital capabilities to help shape the future of minerals processing innovation.
For Majola, the future of minerals processing innovation lies in digital technologies that make operations simpler, smarter and more efficient. He believes machine learning will play an increasingly important role in supporting metallurgical practices by streamlining data analysis, enhancing decision-making and reducing the administrative burden on plant personnel.
“By equipping technical teams with better insights and more time to focus on optimisation, these technologies have the potential to improve plant performance while helping mining operations produce more efficiently and cost-effectively,” explains Majola.
Majola adds that Multotec's local manufacturing capability, research and development facilities and experienced engineering teams enable the company to work closely with customers to test, refine and implement practical solutions that address real operational challenges.
It is this combination of mineral processing expertise, manufacturing capability and innovative digital solutions that Multotec believes will continue to enhance operational efficiency, optimise plant performance, and support smarter decision-making across mineral processing operations in future.
