ASX-listed Lindian Resources confirms it is on track for first monazite concentrate production in December.

The company has been advancing construction, mining and commissioning readiness activities at the Kangankude rare earths project, in Malawi.

Lindian has gathered an ore stockpile of 149 000 t, compared with 24 000 t in September.

Ahead of the first concentrate production, Lindian expects the site energisation to conclude during the first week of November.

Kangankunde is designed to produce 15 300 t/y of monazite concentrate at a 55% total rare earth oxides grade.

Subsequent expansion phases may boost production to 120 000 t/y of monazite concentrate in phases.

The mine is poised to operate for 45 years in the Stage 1 scenario.
