As mining operations continue to prioritise efficiency, reliability, sustainability and improved plant performance, Electra Mining Africa 2026 provided Multotec with an opportunity to engage directly with customers and industry stakeholders, gaining valuable insight into the challenges facing mining and mineral processing operations. Drawing on its technical expertise and world-class manufacturing capabilities, Multotec uses these insights to develop practical solutions that respond directly to the evolving needs of the mining and mineral processing sectors.

This approach was reflected in the range of new and existing products showcased by Multotec at Electra Mining Africa 2026. Visitors at the Multotec stand could see the solutions in action through demonstrations and interactive displays, while engaging directly with specialists from across the company’s various divisions.

HC660 Cyclone

Among the new products showcased was the HC660 Cyclone, a 660 mm-diameter cyclone designed milling circuits to maximise mill efficiency and reduce energy consumption. The HC660 Cyclone fills the gap between the existing HC600 and HC750 Cyclones, completing Multotec’s HC range of rubber lined cyclones.

Polyurethane High Frequency Panel

Another new product on display was the Polyurethane High Frequency Panel (HFP) for ultra-fine screening in wet mineral processing circuits. The HFP screen panels are used as screen media on Multotec’s HFP vibrating screens and  is suited to applications requiring fine-aperture screening, with apertures as small as 45 microns, including ultra-fine classification, dewatering and desliming in commodities such as coal, iron ore, copper, lithium, manganese, and zinc.

Other solutions on show

Other key products on display included the glass cyclone, which provided visitors with a visual demonstration of the internal workings and operating principles of a cyclone; a live spiral demonstration showcasing Multotec’s gravity separation product range; as well as a working Vezin slurry sampler demonstrating the role of sampling in metallurgical accounting.

The stand also featured MATO conveyor belt cleaning and maintenance products, as well as the MA Oryx Pump, designed for the slurry industry with a focus on reduced wear, increased performance, and ease of maintenance. Also featured was a milling simulation display demonstrating the impact of different mill liner designs under varying mill operating parameters, alongside digital mill and scrubber liner wear-monitoring software and other process-optimisation solutions.

Turning industry insight into practical solutions

According to Gerrit van den Heever, Sales Executive at Multotec, the visitors to Electra Mining Africa 2026 included a strong mix of senior personnel, decision-makers, prospective customers and existing customers.

“Events such as Electra Mining Africa give senior managers and key decision-makers the opportunity to see Multotec’s solutions firsthand and gain a better understanding of their quality, capabilities, and performance. This direct engagement helps us bridge the gap between process plant-level requirements and management decision-making, supporting the specification of Multotec products across mining and quarrying operations,” he explains.

“The exhibition also provided valuable networking opportunities with industry peers and competitors, giving Multotec further insights into strategic market shifts, emerging opportunities and potential challenges,” adds Van den Heever.

Moreover, Van den Heever points out that Multotec’s pinless screen panel fastening system and magnetic side liners attracted positive feedback at the event for their innovative approach to installation. “Both developments offer alternative mounting systems that are easy to install and reduce the need for hammering, helping to improve safety and efficiency during maintenance and installation activities in mining and quarrying operations,” he highlights.

Multotec’s presence at Electra Mining Africa 2026 highlighted the company’s customer-focused, solutions-driven approach to product development. By engaging directly with customers and industry stakeholders, the company continues to identify practical solutions to real-world challenges while supporting safer, more efficient, and sustainable mining operations.
