Larvotto ships first antimony concentrate from Hillgrove mine
ASX-listed Larvotto Resources has shipped its first antimony concentrate from the Hillgrove mine in New South Wales.
The 68 t shipment is due for delivery to the company's antimony offtake partner Wogen Resources.
Larvotto is also preparing to send its first gold concentrate shipment.
The company confirms that it continues to ramp up production at Hillgrove, with plant availability exceeding expectations and processing tonnages increasing. There are also ongoing improvements in concentrate grades.
The mine is poised to soon reach its nameplate capacity of 4 900 t/y of antimony and 40 500 oz/y of gold.
Larvotto MD Ron Heeks says the first antimony concentrate shipment is a proud moment for the company as the Hillgrove mine becomes a revenue-generating operation and officially Australia's newest supplier of critical minerals.
"As the first of the three products the plant produces, the focus has been on the antimony circuit. With the antimony circuit now operating at a steady rate, we will broaden our focus to optimise gold concentrate and gold doré production.
"The ramp-up of the plant is progressing well, with availability, processing tonnages and concentrate grades continuing to improve as the team refines the performance of the plant. The progress of the production reflects the wonderful, combined efforts of the processing and mine teams in commissioning and optimising the plant," Heeks states, confirming that the company's third product produced from Hillgrove will be tungsten.
