TOKYO - Japan and Slovenia signed a memorandum of cooperation on Thursday to collaborate on hydrogen energy, including building resilient supply chains, advancing technology development and promoting information sharing, Japan's industry ministry said.

Japan's Yokogawa Electric also said on Thursday it had signed a memorandum of understanding with Slovenia's State-owned power transmission operator ELES and gas transmission system operator Plinovodi to strengthen cooperation on developing a hydrogen ecosystem.

The partners aim to enhance the resilience of Slovenia's energy infrastructure and lay the groundwork for a low-carbon hydrogen industry. They plan to explore the development of a hydrogen plant linking the electricity grid and the gas transmission network, while developing digital solutions to support the coordinated operation of these systems, the companies said in a statement.
