Gold miner Harmony Gold has maintained its Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) score of ‘A’ for its water management during the 2023 assessment period.

CDP is a global nonprofit organisation that manages the world’s environmental disclosure system for companies and regions. It works with many companies to disclose their environmental impacts, reduce greenhouse-gas emissions, safeguard water resources and protect forests.

Harmony CEO Peter Steenkamp says the company is delighted to be awarded this prestigious accolade once again and to remain a leader in water management action.

“Proactive risk agreement supports our approach to water management. We have put several initiatives in place, such as reusing, recycling and reducing our potable water intake, while also managing water consumption and securing water supply.

“This is how we create positive change in our communities and where we operate,” he adds.
