London-listed Gem Diamonds has recovered a 169.15 ct Type II white diamond from the Letšeng mine, in Lesotho.

The find marks the fourth diamond greater than 100 ct that Gem has recovered in the year-to-date.

The prior recoveries include a 113 ct white Type II diamond, a 295 ct white Type II diamond and a 139 ct Boart diamond.

The Letšeng mine is renowned for its production of large, top colour, exceptional white diamonds, making it the highest average dollar per carat kimberlite diamond mine in the world.
