Name of the Project
Era Dorada project.

Location
Department of Jutiapa, south-east Guatemala.

Project Owner/s
Gold and copper mining company Aura Minerals, focused on project development and operations in the Americas.

Project Description
The project has an estimated life-of-mine (LoM) of 17 years, with average gold production estimated at 111 000 oz during the first four years of the project.

Total production of about 1.75-million gold equivalent ounces is estimated over the LoM.

Underground methods will be used, with production derived from a combination of sublevel longhole stoping as the dominant method, mechanised cut-and-fill (MCF) in geotechnically or geometrically constrained areas, and minor room-and-pillar.

Longhole stoping is expected to contribute an estimated 98.5% of total metal production, with MCF contributing about 1.2% and room-and-pillar about 0.1%. The project’s gold/silver mineralisation is considered amenable to gravity concentration followed by cyanide leaching.

The process plant will comprise a 1 600 t/d, one-stage crushing, semiautogenous grinding mill and pebble crusher; ball mill, leach, carbon-in-pulp, elution and electrowinning circuits, all of which are well-known, conventional, processing unit operations.

Aura has also secured budget authorisation for an advanced water treatment system, which will allow for the delivery of purified, potable water to the local community.

Potential Job Creation
Not stated.

Net Present Value/Internal Rate of Return
The project has an after-tax net present value of $1 344.5-million at a gold price, for the projected period, of $ 3 177/oz. The after-tax internal rate of return is estimated at 35.6%.

Capital Expenditure
Expansion capital expenditure guidance was revised in April 2026 from $111-million at the low end and $130-million at the high end to $262-million and $314-million respectively.

The updated amount reflects the full scope of the project.

Planned Start/End Date
The project was approved for construction in April 2026. The project is expected to start operations in the first half of 2028.

Latest Developments
None stated.

Key Contracts, Suppliers and Consultants
