Ekato highlights recovery and efficiency gains at Electra Mining
Ekato Africa MD Ronald Singo spoke to Engineering News & Mining Weekly during the Electra Mining Africa event, held in Johannesburg from 7 to 11 September 2026. Camerawork: Miko Moodley. Editing: Nicholas Boyd.
Ekato, a German manufacturer of agitators and mixing systems, is highlighting equipment reliability, recovery and energy efficiency as key considerations for mining operations at Electra Mining Africa.
The company says increasingly difficult-to-mine ore bodies are placing greater pressure on operators to improve recovery and process efficiency. Its agitation and mixing systems are designed to improve process performance in applications such as carbon-in-leach, with efficient impellers and blades aimed at maximising recovery of gold, lithium and other valuable products.
Power efficiency is also becoming increasingly important as mining companies look to manage operating costs. Ekato says its equipment can help customers optimise power utilisation while maintaining process performance, contributing to improved operational efficiency and the bottom line.
Electra Mining Africa provides an opportunity for Ekato to showcase its latest agitation technologies to mining customers across Africa. The company is using the exhibition to demonstrate how advances in mixing and agitation can support improved recoveries and efficiency across a range of mining applications.
