Dynacor pours first gold at Galam plant in Senegal
TSX-listed Dynacor Group has achieved its first gold pour from the Galam pilot plant in Senegal.
The company's first gold pour in Africa marks its transition into a geographically diversified gold processor.
Dynacor confirms that the plant run time and recovery rates are increasing steadily since the plant was commissioned earlier this year. Galam is now the first gold processing plant servicing permitted artisanal and small-scale gold mining (ASGM) in Senegal.
Galam comprises a 50 t/d modular processing plant that services as a test ground for Dynacor's expansion into Senegal and Africa at large. The plant's location in Kédougou places it at the heart of the main ASGM region in Senegal where some 98% of national ASGM sites and 13 of 16 government-permitted ASGM corridors are located.
If successful, the Galam pilot plant will be a precursor to a 300 t/d commercial processing plant in Senegal.
