Project Description
DRDGOLD has moved the Daggafontein TSF out of the company’s reserves to resume the TSF as a deposition facility to supplement the Brakpan TSF, at least until it can commission its longer-term TSF initiative, Withok, immediately south of the Brakpan TSF.

The Daggafontein TSF is being connected to the Ergo plant through a pipeline and pumpstation infrastructure to support the resumption of deposition.

The Daggafontein TSF will have a deposition capacity of 120-million tonnes and a life of 20 years at a deposition rate of 500 000 t a month.

Latest Developments
DRDGOLD reported in February 2026 that construction of the necessary infrastructure at Ergo’s Brakpan plant, and of the project’s 21 km dual pipeline linking the plant to the Daggafontein TSF, was nearing completion. 

Its results for the six months ended December 31, 2025, notes that preparation of the TSF is continuing apace on schedule and within budget. First deposition is expected in first quarter of the financial year ending June 30, 2027.
