Cadillac Mines upsizes IPO, secures Agnico Eagle Mines as investor

Gold and base metals explorer Cadillac Mines has upsized its planned initial public offering (IPO) to $385-million on the TSX, compared with a prior target of $363-million.

The offering consists of 18.8-million common shares at $6.90 apiece, 6.3-million special flow-through shares at $9.52 apiece and a secondary offering by certain shareholders of the company comprising 28.2-million shares at $6.90 apiece.

Cadillac has secured a subscription agreement with Canada's largest mining company Agnico Eagle Mines for 8.6-million common shares at $6.90 apiece on a private placement basis, which amounts to $60-million.

Cadillac expects the IPO to close on August 5.

Cadillac explores exclusively within the highly prolific Abitibi Greenstone Belt across Ontario and Québec.

The operations are concentrated along the Cadillac-Larder Lake Break, which is a massive geological fault structure renowned for massive historical gold production. The company's flagship asset is the Kerr-Addison project in Kirkland Lake, Ontario.
