Aim- and ASX-listed Ariana Resources has appointed Michael Atkins nonexecutive chairperson, effective immediately.

Current chairperson Michael de Villiers will step down from his role and take on the role of deputy chairperson, and also continue his duties as company secretary.

“I am delighted that Michael Atkins, who has been deputy chairperson since the company’s admission to the ASX in 2025, has accepted the role of nonexecutive chairperson.

“With a wealth of experience as a company chairperson in the resources sector and a proven track record in corporate development, Michael’s appointment signifies the commencement of the company-wide transformation process currently under way, positioning it for future growth and success with our flagship Dokwe gold project, in Zimbabwe,” Ariana Resources MD Dr Kerim Sener comments.

“Michael [de Villiers] has been an important member of the Ariana team and has been company chairperson over the past 13 years, supporting its growth as we transformed our assets from exploration into production in Türkiye.

“He will continue to support the company as we move towards development of the over-one-million-ounce Dokwe gold project.”
