Anson announces early-stage offtaker, financier interest for Green River through MoU
ASX-listed Anson Resources has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with specialist metals trader Wogen Resources and financing adviser Xcelsior Capital Advisors to evaluate a potential long-term offtake arrangement for between 2 000 t/y and 6 000 t/y of lithium carbonate-equivalent from Anson's Green River lithium project, in Utah.
The proposed initial offtake term is five years, with scope for increased volumes and a longer timeline.
Xcelsior may evaluate potential investment or financing support for Green River, including debt, product prepayment, strategic investment of other mutually acceptable structures.
Anson currently expects Green River to start production in 2029/30, subject to development, financing, permitting, construction and commissioning of the project.
Under the MoU, the parties will review technical information and representative product samples, conduct lithium carbonate product testing and qualification, evaluate logistics, infrastructure and delivered-product costs, assess potential financing structures and negotiate one or more definitive agreements.
Anson executive chairperson and CEO Bruce Richardson says signing the MoU with Wogen and Xcelsior represents an important step in developing the commercial and financing pathways for the Green River project. "Wogen brings extensive experience in the international marketing and trading of specialist metals and minerals while Xcelsior provides financing and capital markets expertise focused on the critical minerals sector.
