JSE-listed AECI celebrates its centenary this year, with Group CEO Holger Riemensperger attributing the company’s success to its solution-focussed value proposition and dedication from its workforce.

Riemensperger describes AECI as a “remarkable success story founded on unique customer relationships and an exceptional ability to adapt to evolving global landscapes.”

As AECI celebrates its centenary, Riemensperger emphasises the company’s forward-looking strategy as it embarks on a journey towards its next 100 years.

Anchored in the pillars of people and culture, operational excellence and portfolio optimisation, the new strategy reflects AECI’s commitment to maintaining its pioneering spirit.

Riemensperger acknowledges that AECI's longevity is a result of the consistent production of safe, reliable and quality products, coupled with deep expertise and knowledge.

"We will continue to rely on these strengths as we concentrate our efforts on a more focused AECI moving towards the next 100 years.”

With a keen eye on mining as the primary growth focus, AECI plans to restructure its chemicals business to provide operational and financial support, driving growth in the mining sector.

Recognising that this will be a multi-year journey, Riemensperger is confident that it is the best path for AECI.

“What sets us apart from our competitors is not only our skills but also our strong will to keep innovating and optimising solutions, working hand-in-hand with our customers to deliver real value to the industry as a whole,” he asserts.

AECI has evolved from being an explosives provider for South Africa's growing mining sector, into a global leader in the chemicals and mining industries.

AECI's influence now extends across Africa, Europe, South East Asia, North America, South America and Australia, representing a journey marked by growth, diversification and international prominence.

MINING INDABA

AECI Mining will be exhibiting at this year’s Investing in African Mining Indaba – to be held at the Cape Town Convention Centre from February 5 to 8.

“AECI Mining invites you to immerse yourself in a virtual experience, unveiling our complete range of explosives technologies through a curated three-dimensional showcase,” says global support services executive at AECI Mining Morne Stiglingh.

From sustainable explosives to initiating systems and smart delivery systems, visitors can explore first-hand how AECI Mining's innovative products and services can elevate and transform their businesses.

"Positive disruption in mining technology is at the heart of our business, and we look forward to the opportunity to demonstrate that to our mining industry stakeholders. Visit our exhibition at Mining Indaba, witness the future of mining technology, and be a part of the next chapter in AECI's century-long legacy of positive disruption,” Stiglingh expresses.
