Project Description
The Zulu project comprises 14 mineral claims covering a surface area of 3.5 km2.

The proposed pilot plant has a nameplate throughput of up to 190 t/h; however, it is planned to (RoM) at a more conservative 140 t/h at inception.

The pilot plant will use state-of-the-art, sensor-based ore-sorting technologies that will facilitate the separation of run-of-mine material into components and, in so doing, will likely increase available capacity in the flotation recovery circuits, where lithium minerals are recovered.

Ultimate production and recoveries are a factor of many variables, and the pilot plant is likely to assist in dealing with these variables, owing to the inherent flexibility of using multiple ore sorters.

Stockpiles of tantalum-, petalite- and mica-/lepidolite-rich material will facilitate further testwork and flowsheet development to ensure that this material is truly inventory for later profitable recovery.

Latest Developments
On July 28, 2026, Premier African Minerals reported that its planned restart of the Zulu plant during July would not proceed until discussions with Canmax Technologies on a further extension of the long-stop date had concluded and the agreed terms had been formally announced.

During processing operations in June, the company identified opportunities to improve plant operability and reliability. Its engineering team subsequently implemented modifications, upgrades and other changes while conducting regular maintenance throughout the processing plant.

Mining and stockpiling at Zulu are continuing. Ore inventory is being built on the RoM pad ahead of the next sustained optimisation campaign. Given the reduced scale of mining, Premier considers accumulating adequate ore inventory before restarting the plant to be the most efficient use of available resources and the best means of maximising the value of the next campaign.

A revised timetable for the next production and optimisation run will be announced once the Canmax discussions have concluded. Canmax is reviewing the latest operational and commissioning data from the upgraded flotation circuit, together with the broader technical progress achieved at Zulu.

Premier has said the discussions remain constructive and it intends to start a continuous operating campaign as soon as possible, subject to agreement being reached. However, the company has cautioned that there is no guarantee that an extension will be agreed upon or on what terms.

It deems the proposed extension and successful completion of the next production and optimisation campaign important to demonstrate sustained plant performance and support its engagement with potential strategic investors.
