Name of the Project
Yellowhead copper project.

Location
The territory of the Simpcw First Nation, in the Thompson-Nicola region of British Columbia, Canada.

Project Owner/s
Trekor Metals, formerly Taseko Mines.

Project Description
Trekor states that Yellowhead has the potential to be one of the largest copper mines in North America. The openpit mine development aims to produce copper concentrate with payable gold and silver credits.

The project is a proposed openpit copper mine designed for production capacity of 90 000 t/d of ore over a 25-year mine life. It would produce an average of 178-million pounds of copper in concentrate a year over the life-of-mine.

The technical report suggests the development of an openpit mine using conventional truck-and-shovel mining techniques, supplying the concentrator with 90 000 t/d of ore over a 25-year life-of-mine (LoM). Total LoM production is estimated at 4.4-billion pounds of copper, 282 000 oz of gold and 19.4-million ounces of silver.

The sulphide concentrator will include three stages of comminution, followed by three stages of flotation and a final concentrate dewatering stage. The final concentrate will be trucked off-site to a nearby rail load-out facility for subsequent transport to the Port of Vancouver or direct rail to other North American markets.

The mineral resource estimate as of June 1, 2025, includes a measured and indicated mineral resource of 1.3-billion tonnes grading 0.25% copper, 0.028 g/t gold and 1.2 g/t silver at a 0.15% copper cutoff grade. An additional 111-million tonnes averaging 0.24% copper is classified as inferred. The proven and probable mineral reserve is estimated at 817-million tonnes grading 0.28% copper, 0.030 g/t gold and 1.3 g/t silver at a 0.17% copper cutoff grade.

Potential Job Creation
The July 2026 economic-impact study has estimated that Yellowhead would create 525 ongoing full-time direct positions during operations. Trekor's July 2026 update states that the project would support 3 305 total jobs, including direct, indirect and induced employment, during operations. During the two- to three-year construction phase, the study estimates that the project would support 8 815 jobs, or 8 200 full-time-equivalent positions, across Canada.

Net Present Value/Internal Rate of Return
The 2025 technical report update estimates a pretax net present value, at an 8% discount rate, of $2.8-billion, with an internal rate of return of 22%. Pretax payback is estimated at 3.7 years.

Capital Expenditure
About C$1.98-billion, based on the July 2026 economic-impact study, which states the total capital investment for construction and development at about $1.98-billion in 2025 dollars.

Planned Start/End Date
The economic-impact study describes an estimated two- to three-year construction phase.

Latest Developments
Trekor announced on July 7, 2026, that it had submitted a detailed project description (DPD) for Yellowhead to the BC Environmental Assessment Office.

The DPD incorporates additional technical work and community feedback from the early engagement phase of the EA process.

The DPD submission advances the project to the next phase of the provincial environmental assessment process and will inform the Readiness Decision and Process Planning phases.

Process planning and scoping work are also under way for the Simpcw Process, an Indigenous-led, consent-based decision-making model. Environmental studies and engineering work continue, with a site investigation and drilling programme planned for the second half of 2026.

In conjunction with the DPD submission, Trekor released an economic-impact study prepared by MNP. The study estimates total economic output in Canada of about $47-billion and value-added GDP of $27.3-billion over construction and operations, with about 70% of this economic activity expected to occur in the Thompson-Nicola region. It also estimates about $7-billion in payments to governments in Canada over the construction and operating phases.

Key Contracts, Suppliers and Consultants
MNP LLP (economic-impact study); Cohesion Consulting Group (drillhole database audit); SGS Canada Inc (metallurgical testing); G&T Metallurgical Services (2011/2012 programme); FLSmidth Laboratories (comminution testing); and Knight Piésold (site investigation/geotechnical studies).
