ASX-listed St Barbara has increased the mineral resource estimate (MRE) for its 15-Mile Processing Hub project by 20%, or 500 000 oz, to 62.4-million tonnes grading 1.2 g/t gold for 2.5-million contained ounces.

The updated MRE for the Nova Sotia-based project incorporates new geological interpretations, a revised estimation methodology and additional historical drill data from the three mine areas comprising the 15-Mile Processing Hub project - including the 15-Mile, Old Mitchell and Old Austen mines.

The company plans on publishing an updated prefeasibility study on the project by the end of September, which will be followed by an updated ore reserve estimate.

The updated MRE will also feed into a feasibility study on 15-Mile due by the end of June next year.

St Barbara has identified more targets for drilling at the 15-Mile mine for the current 2027 financial year.
