Lithium company Liontown as appointed Giselle Collins as an independent nonexecutive director with effect from Wednesday, succeeding Ian Wells who stepped down from the board at the end of March.

Collins is assuming the role of chair of the audit and risk committee and is joining the remuneration and nomination committee.

She brings more than 20 years of board-level experience, with a background in financial governance, treasury and commercial management across multiple sectors and jurisdictions.

She currently serves as a nonexecutive director at Generation Development Group, where she chairs the audit committee, and has previously held board roles in the resources and energy sectors, including at Amplitude Energy and Peak Rare Earths.

Her executive career includes senior roles at KPMG, as well as positions with the Hannan Group and NRMA.

Chairperson Tim Goyder said Collins’s appointment comes at an important time for the company as it concludes its ramp-up of Kathleen Valley, entering its next phase of growth. "[Collins's] global experience will be a significant asset to the board and management.”

Liontown also announced the appointment of Jennifer Morris as lead independent director, effective immediately.
