Aim-listed gold exploration and development company Lexington Gold has announced that Mark Greenwood has now assumed the role of CEO, while Dr Bernard Olivier has assumed the role of COO.

The company says the revised structure serves to formalise the division of responsibilities between Greenwood and Olivier.

Olivier will retain primary responsibility for the technical and operational advancement of Lexington’s asset portfolio, including the Kroonstad and Jelani joint venture gold projects, in South Africa’s Free State province, while Greenwood will focus on the company’s day-to-day corporate, capital markets, investor relations and business development activities, including progressing the previously announced disposal of the company’s US assets.

“I am delighted to assume the role of CEO and to continue working closely with Bernard, [chairperson Ed Nealon] and the wider Lexington Gold team. Bernard and I already work in tandem, and the revised structure provides a clear and complementary division of our respective responsibilities as we continue to pursue the group’s development,” Greenwood says.

“Mark’s new role as CEO strengthens Lexington Gold’s executive team and formalises a division of responsibilities that plays to our respective strengths and skill sets. Mark and I already work closely together and I look forward to continuing that close working relationship under the revised team structure,” Olivier says.
