Labrador Gold conducts strategic review to strengthen balance sheet, maximise shareholder value
TSX-V-listed mineral exploration and investment company Labrador Gold has initiated a comprehensive review of strategic alternatives aimed at positiong the company for its next phase of growth.
As part of the strategic review, the company’s board will evaluate a range of potential transactions, corporate initiatives and strategic alternatives including the separation of exploration and investment activities, capital allocation and corporate structure, strategic acquisitions, portfolio optimisiation and asset divestitures.
On these considerations, Labrador Gold elaborates that the review of the company’s capital allocation priorities, corporate cost structure, governance framework and financing strategies is necessary for ensuring that financial resources are deployed efficiently and in a manner consistent with the objective of maximising shareholder returns.
Labrador Gold adds that it will conduct a comprehensive assessment of the company’s existing mineral exploration assets, including potential divestitures, joint ventures, earn-in arrangements and other transactions intended to optimise its asset portfolio, unlock value and prioritise capital allocation.
“The commencement of this strategic review marks an important step in the evolution of LabGold. With a significantly strengthened financial position and an expanded and engaged shareholder base, we believe the company is well positioned to evaluate a range of opportunities.
“Our objective is to ensure that LabGold’s assets and financial resources are deployed strategically, while identifying opportunities to unlock value from our existing portfolio and establish a foundation for sustainable, long-term growth,” Labrador Gold president and director Raymond D Harari says.
The strategic review follows the company’s recently completed financing and the strengthening of its balance sheet, together with changes to its shareholder base and leadership.
The company’s board intends to complete its strategic review by January 15.
