Euronext-listed green hydrogen producer Lhyfe has taken delivery of 10 new Hexagon Purus containers, with the company now operating 84 Type IV tube trailers dedicated to hydrogen transport.

Lhyfe now has one of the largest and most modern fleets in Europe, serving its production sites, partner sites, storage facilities and transport partners.

Alongside its production facilities, Lhyfe has managed to develop one of the most advanced hydrogen supply options in the European market.

Lhyfe made more than 850 deliveries in 2025, suppling green hydrogen across nine European countries. The company averaged 55 deliveries a month to mobility and industrial customers, including in France, Sweden and Germany.

The company says its logistics organisation has already enabled about 60 customers to decarbonise their operations.

Lhyfe is working to make more renewable hydrogen accessible across Europe.

Lhyfe in 2021 commissioned its first green hydrogen production site in France, followed by two additional sites in Brittany and Occitanie, as well as one in Germany.

The company currently has 21 MW of installed capacity, which is set to increase by 70% this year, enabling broader territorial coverage and closer proximity to customers.

Since commissioning its first green hydrogen production site in 2021, Lhyfe has avoided the emission of four-million tonnes of CO2.

Meanwhile, the company's Type IV containers are the most advanced on the market, offering lighter, more resistant and renewable fuel from non-biological origin-certified benefits. The containers are able to withstand high pressure, meaning more hydrogen can be transported per trip.

Lhyfe operates four container sizes and two compression levels to meet a wide range of customer needs.

Additionally, Lhyfe has created a suite of innovative tools to enhance the efficiency of its European supply teams in coordinating bulk hydrogen production and distribution. These include demand forecasting, filling planning, compatibility management, production monitoring, carrier scheduling, and customer information systems.

By securing and optimising these parameters, Lhyfe strengthens its ability to ensure reliable deliveries and high service quality.

The company has 15 container storage sites across Europe to optimise costs and ensure reliable deliveries, while it has partnerships with four transport providers specialised in hazardous material transport in place. To date, Lhyfe has certified and trained 60 drivers for hydrogen container transport and delivery, operating both on its own sites and those of partners and customers.

MARKET VIEW

Among Lhyfe's customers are BMW Group, TEAL Mobility, H2 Mobility, Karp Kneip and Essent.

In mobility, green hydrogen is emerging as an alternative to fossil fuels and complementary to battery electric solutions. It is particularly relevant for applications requiring long range, fast refuelling, or heavy loads (SUVs, taxis, vans, forklifts, tractors and trucks), in regions where the power grid cannot support large-scale electrification, or for vehicles operating in extreme conditions - either very cold or hot climates.

In industry, green hydrogen is proving to be a key decarbonisation solution, replacing fossil fuels and grey hydrogen, especially in energy-intensive processes that are difficult to electrify. It is particularly suited for applications requiring high temperatures, continuous production, or hydrogen as a feedstock (chemicals, refining, steelmaking and glassmaking), as well as for industrial sites facing strong energy constraints or limited access to abundant low-carbon electricity.

Lhyfe CEO and founder Matthieu Guesné says the development of the green hydrogen supply chain is a cornerstone of the sector’s growth.

"The bulk market is the first to scale up—it is already enabling pioneering players to initiate their energy transition. To support them, we have been committed since 2021 to building a comprehensive, efficient, reliable, and flexible supply chain.

"Beyond challenging traditional hydrogen industry practices, we have fundamentally rethought them, particularly to adapt to production based on renewable energy. It is an exciting challenge that we continue to address every day, constantly improving our model alongside our on-site projects—installed directly at customer facilities with hydrogen supplied via pipelines—and pipeline network solutions. The sector will require multiple distribution formats to meet diverse use cases, and we are ready to deliver on those needs," he concludes.
