A real-time localisation system for industrial applications is designed to provide precise positioning of assets such as vehicles, workpieces and materials, and enable full visibility, security and traceability.

Based on ultra-wideband (UWB) technology, the omlox-certified Coriva system from sensor intelligence specialist SICK is specifically designed to locate, track and manage assets.

The company is expanding its range of integrated digital offerings that combine sensors, systems and software into industry-ready solutions designed to reduce errors, enhance safety, improve flow, increase visibility, and boost the security of logistics operations.

With Coriva, recorded position data of assets is used for continuous monitoring of goods movements, material flows, and fleet management. The system comprises mobile UWB tags (CorivaTag), a permanently installed infrastructure (CorivaSat) and software (CorivaEngine), which calculates the positions of the mobile devices in real-time. The recorded position data can be forwarded to an omlox hub using standardised interfaces.

Coriva software can be operated on-site or in the cloud and technologies such as radio frequency identification (RFID), global navigation satellite system, wireless personal area network or light detection and ranging (LiDAR) can be integrated through the CorivaHub. CorivaHub can also be used in combination with other SICK solutions, including IdentGate, for automatic identification of parcels and pallets in logistics environments, and the ALDIS RFID automated load detection system.

Additional products in the company’s suite of digital logistics solutions include:

  • The Inspector machine vision system, including the AI-enabled Inspector83x
  • Master data analyser vision to improve logistics flow, data quality, and accuracy
  • LiDAR navigation systems
  • Mobile robot manager

“Logistics operations are increasingly turning to digitalisation to improve throughput and prevent downtime. Our digital solutions, like Coriva, provide SICK expertise, quality and reliability to companies across the logistics industry. SICK offers logistics industry customers a single partner for inspection, identification and security, and we have proven expertise in automated logistics environments, with complete scalable architectures that are compatible with your existing systems,” says SICK digital solutions leader: South West Europe Christophe Hien.
