DRDGOLD appoints Henriette Hooijer CFO designate
JSE-listed gold producer and recovery specialist DRDGOLD has appointed Henriette Hooijer CFO designate, effective July 1.
Her appointment forms part of the company’s succession planning, as current CFO Riaan Davel will step down from his executive role after the financial reporting season for the 2025 financial year comes to an end.
It is anticipated that Hooijer will assume the office of CFO from February 1, 2026, DRDGOLD says.
She is a qualified chartered accountant with nearly a decade of leadership experience at DRDGOLD, having joined the company in 2016 as DRDGOLD group financial SOX and compliance manager after more than a decade at tax advisory and professional services firm KPMG.
She was later promoted to FD of Far West Gold Recoveries and played a key role in the delivery of this highly successful project.
Since March 2024, she has served as group finance GM and contributed to DRDGOLD's financial leadership and strategic implementation of Vision 2028.
Hooijer has also been appointed to the company’s board of directors with effect from July 1, and will be the first female executive director in the company's history.
Davel joined the company as CFO in January 2015 after a 17-year career in professional services including a partnership at KPMG. He has agreed to stay on as an independent consultant to the office of the CFO for a one-year period ending January 31, 2027, to support the transition and continue contributing to the execution of Vision 2028.
This planned transition is part of DRDGOLD’s leadership continuity, transformation and long-term strategic growth.
