Australian miner Regis posts record net profit of $715m
ASX-listed Regis Resources has reported a $461-million year-on-year increase in its net profit after tax to a record $715-million in the 2026 financial year, which CEO and MD Jim Beyer says reflects the consistency of the company's operations and continued efforts to strengthen its balance sheet.
Regis produced 379 050 oz in the year, generating record earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation of $1.34-billion - a $565-million increase year-on-year.
Notably, Regis achieved an average realised price of $6 283/oz in the year under review, which boosted the group's cash and bullion balance to a record $1.18-billion as at June 30 - a $667-million increase year-on-year.
The company declared a final dividend of $0.20 apiece, comprising a $0.15 ordinary dividend and a $0.05 special dividend, totalling $151-million. For the full year, total dividends came to a record $0.35 apiece, or $265-million, which represents a payout ratio of 39% and equates to a 6.1% yield, which is a standout achievement in the gold sector.
In the reporting year Regis introduced a new capital management policy that formalises how the board considers the return of capital to shareholders to balance ongoing distributions with continued investment in the business.
The company remains unhedged and enters the new financial year with a strong balance sheet for growth.
Regis has set its 2027 production guidance at between 360 000 oz and 400 000 oz.
The company holds the Duketon gold project, which comprises three underground mines and 30% of the Tropicana gold mine, all in Australia.
Regis is also developing the McPhillamys gold project, in New South Wales.
