ASX-listed Atomic Eagle has appointed Grant Davey nonexecutive chairperson, while Govind Friedland will transition from chairperson to nonexecutive director.

In a statement to shareholders, Atomic Eagle says Davey has more than 30 years of senior management and operational experience in the development, construction and operation of global mining and energy projects.

He also has significant uranium sector experience, having been the founder of Lotus Resources and Boss Energy – two ASX-listed uranium producers.

Davey is also currently a nonexecutive director of ASX-listed companies Frontier Energy and Earth’s Energy.

The company has also appointed Muna Hantuba nonexecutive director.

“We are delighted to have attracted individuals of the calibre of both Grant and Muna to the board of Atomic Eagle, as their experience in dealing in Africa over the duration of their careers is vitally important.

“In addition, Grant’s expertise in the uranium sector of more than 20 years will no doubt prove invaluable, having been the founder of both Boss Energy and Lotus Resources,” says Atomic Eagle CEO Phil Hoskins.

“The board sincerely thanks Mr Friedland for his significant service as chairperson, during which time he provided strong leadership and guided the company through an important period of development.

“The board is pleased that Mr Friedland will continue to contribute his experience and knowledge in his ongoing role as a nonexecutive director,” says Atomic Eagle.

Meanwhile, the company describes Hantuba as a prominent Zambian business leader with an extensive 40-year career spanning finance, mining, insurance, real estate and corporate governance.

He is a past chairperson of Zambia’s Securities and Exchange Commission and was president of the Economics Association of Zambia.

He serves as a director for a range of companies, including the various subsidiaries of the Aflife Holdings Group and is also a member of the Zambia Association of Chambers of Commerce and Industry.

Hantuba is also board chairperson of Chilanga Cement Zambia – Zambia’s largest cement producer.

Eric Krafft has, meanwhile, resigned from the board, effective April 20.

The board extended its sincere thanks to Krafft for his years of dedicated service and for the valuable contribution he has made to the company during his tenure, wishing him well for the future.

“I would also like to recognise the considerable work Eric has done for the company as a director, and I wish him all the best in the future. I also look forward to continuing to work with Govind who steps down to a nonexecutive director,” Hoskins comments.
