Southern Palladium

Southern Palladium is a South African mining company focused on platinum-group metals (PGMs) exploration and development. The company operates in the Bushveld Complex in Limpopo province, one of the world's most significant PGM-bearing geological formations. Southern Palladium's activities centre on the extraction and processing of platinum, palladium and rhodium, metals critical to automotive catalytic converters and industrial applications. The company's operations include interests in projects such as Modikwa and engagement with community stakeholders including the Bengwenyama community. Southern Palladium operates within South Africa's Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (B-BBEE) framework, which shapes ownership and procurement structures in the mining sector. The company's strategic focus reflects the economic importance of PGMs to South Africa's export economy and the technical challenges of deep-level mining in the Bushveld Complex. Southern Palladium engages specialist consultancies such as Minxcon for technical and regulatory services. The company's operations contribute to employment and economic activity in Limpopo, a province with a substantial mining footprint. Southern Palladium remains a participant in South Africa's PGM sector, which supplies a significant share of global palladium and platinum output.
