Sandvik

Sandvik is a Swedish multinational engineering company specialising in mining and rock excavation equipment, metal-cutting tools and materials technology. The company is headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden, and operates in more than 160 countries across six continents. Sandvik is listed on Nasdaq Stockholm and is a constituent of the OMX Stockholm 30 index. The company's core business areas include mining and rock solutions, rock processing solutions, manufacturing and machining solutions, and materials technology. In the mining sector, Sandvik supplies equipment for underground and surface mining operations, including drilling rigs, loaders, trucks and crushers, as well as automation and digital solutions. The company holds a leading market position in underground hard-rock mining equipment and is a major supplier to the global quarrying and construction industries. Sandvik employs approximately 40,000 people worldwide and generates annual revenue of around 120-billion Swedish kronor. Principal brands and divisions include Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions, Sandvik Rock Processing Solutions and Sandvik Machining Solutions. The company was founded in 1862 by Göran Fredrik Göransson, who developed the first commercial method for producing steel using the Bessemer process, and has since evolved into a diversified industrial group with a strong focus on innovation and sustainability.
