West Wits director resigns to focus on role as CEO, MD of Golden State Mining
Keith Middleton has resigned as nonexecutive director of ASX-listed West Wits Mining, with effect from September 1, to focus on his role as CEO and MD of fellow ASX-listed company Golden State Mining.
West Wits points out that Middleton was appointed CEO and MD of Golden State Mining in November last year and that the role has progressively required more of his time.
Middleton joined West Wits in mid-2023 as GM, supporting chairperson Michael Quinert across a range of matters, including investor relations and fundraising activities. He was appointed a nonexecutive director of the company in July 2025 and has been part of the West Wits team throughout a period of growth and transformation, including the company's transition into gold development and first production at the Qala Shallows mine, in South Africa.
“Keith has made a valuable contribution to West Wits during an important period of growth and transformation for the company, including our transition into first gold production at Qala Shallows. While we are sorry to see him step down from the board, we fully understand that his growing responsibilities at Golden State Mining now require his complete focus.
"Keith leaves West Wits with our sincere thanks and appreciation and, on behalf of the board, I wish him every success in his role at Golden State Mining,” Quinert comments.
Golden State Mining explores for gold, lithium and base metals in Western Australia.
